Tecnologies d'Emissions Negatives (TEN)

Focused on technologies that allow the cancellation of emissions de

  • Direct air capture, DAC
  • Enhancement of natural carbon sinks
  • Carbon storage coupled to bioenergy processes (BECCS)

Objectius:

This line of work focuses on the dissemination of the technological development necessary for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. To this end, it is intended to explain, in an accessible way, the difference between the processes of capturing CO₂ and other gases in industrial effluents (neutral emissions) and the innovative processes of air capture, reforestation, etc. (negative emissions). This year's line of work has focused mainly on this second theme (negative emissions) and has evaluated the different existing technologies, trying to explain their basic operation and degree of maturity. Specifically, work has been done on the theme of Direct Air Capture to reduce the concentration of CO₂ in the atmosphere, given its vital importance in the ecosystem in the fight against climate change.
