Tutoresport URV Program
To promote the full integration of student-athletes into the university education system, URV organizes the Catalan university program Tutoresport.cat, adapted to the characteristics and needs of the students at our university. This program is aimed at students who have been recognized as high-level athletes, high-performance athletes, or students with a high level of dedication and sporting excellence. Its goal is to help them balance their academic studies with athletic activity at the highest level.
To enroll, it is essential to participate in the Catalan University Championships (CCU) representing the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and to meet at least one of the following requirements:
High-Level and High-Performance Athletes
- High-Level Athlete in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 971/2007, of July 13, and listed in the corresponding publication of the BOE.
- High-Performance Athlete who meets the requirements of Article 2.3, sections d), e), f), and g) of Royal Decree 971/2007, of July 13, on High-Level and High-Performance Athletes.
- Catalan High-Level and High-Performance Athlete in accordance with Decree 337/2002, of December 3, listed in the current year lists approved semiannually by the Presidency of the Catalan Sports Council and published in the DOGC.
- Athlete belonging to the ADO program (Olympic Sports Association) and the ADOP program (Support for Paralympic Goal Sports).
High Sports Dedication
- Athlete called up for the Catalan team in the current or previous year. Certification from the relevant federations is required.
- Athlete called up for the Catalan university team by the ECU (Esport Català Universitari).
- Athlete with a professional contract.
- University High-Level Athlete. This includes students who have won medals at the Catalan University Championship (CCU), the Spanish University Championship (CEU), or who participate in the European Universities Championships (EUC).
- Athlete who, even if they do not meet the previous requirements, is proposed by URV for having finished among the top three in the Spanish University Championship of the previous academic year. In this case, a tutor will only be assigned to those for whom it is deemed necessary by mutual agreement between the athlete and the program management. The rest will be accepted into the program without an assigned tutor.
Students with broad recognition and sporting excellence who can demonstrate a sports curriculum may also apply. Their application will be reviewed, and their acceptance into the program will be evaluated.
Support
The beneficiaries of the program receive support through:
-
The assignment of a tutor who will ensure the compatibility between the students' academic activity and their sports schedule, as established in Article 25 of Title II Evaluation and Grading of Courses of the Academic Regulations for Bachelor's and Master's degrees for the 2025-26 academic year. In cases of High Sports Dedication, a tutor will only be assigned to points 3, 4, and 5. The rest will be accepted into the program without an assigned tutor (except in cases where it is deemed necessary).
-
The recognition of 1 credit of Recognized University Activities for their continuous dedication to sports activities throughout the academic year. Points 3, 4, and 5 of High Sports Dedication are exempt from credit allocation.
