Curriculum Vitae
I was born in Barcelona in 1978, and my academic and professional career has been closely linked to the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, where I studied, developed my career, and have taken on a range of teaching and academic management responsibilities. I am a Serra Húnter Full Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. I graduated in Biochemistry from the URV and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Graz University of Technology (Austria) through a Beatriu de Pinós fellowship. In 2007, I returned to the URV as a Lecturer, where I have continued to develop my academic career to my current position.
I have taught on a range of undergraduate programmes, mainly in the Faculties of Chemistry and Oenology, as well as on master's and doctoral programmes, where I also supervise doctoral theses. Alongside my teaching, I have held several academic management roles, including Coordinator of the Doctoral Programme in Nutrition and Metabolism, Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Coordinator of the Double Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. From 2022 to 2026, I served as Vice-Rector for Teaching Projects and Students.
My research focuses on the molecular bioactivity of food. I have carried out this work through competitive research projects and established research groups, maintaining a sustained scientific output. I currently lead the MoBioFood research group at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
