Regulatory framework to enable the deployment of TENs.
- Collect available information regarding market trends on carbon credits.
- Compile and evaluate the regulatory framework with its legislative mechanisms and planned proposals to enable the development and implementation of TEN
Objective:
In this line, it is proposed to study the EU regulatory legal framework on NETs. During this course, the legal regulation on decarbonisation has been analysed, with special attention to carbon markets and the Net Zero transformation. With regard to carbon markets, the regulatory framework established by Directive 2003/87/EC has been examined, addressing the operation of tools such as the voluntary market, auction, ETS credits and Carbon Removal Certification, as well as their implications for financial and tax law. On the other hand, the regulation relating to the Net Zero transformation, based on Regulation (EU) 2024/1735, has been studied, analysing the obligations, requirements and associated authorisations, as well as the role of strategic zero-emission projects in the future of industry and sustainability.
