XIX Green Chemistry Conference
The Faculty of Chemistry at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili held the XIX Green Chemistry Conference on February 9, 10, and 19 of 2026, focused on "CO₂: reduction, capture, and reuse".
The first lecture, held on Monday afternoon, was delivered by Dr. Adrian Moreno, member of the URV‑Fundación Repsol Chair of Energy Transition, who discussed the scientific and technological potential of CO₂ as a resource.

The official inauguration took place on February 10, with the participation of the Dean and a keynote lecture centered on the opportunities that decarbonization offers for the chemistry of the future.
One of the highlights was the roundtable on the role of green chemistry in the energy transition, which included participants from both academia and industry, among them Dr. Estela Rivas Nieto, also a member of the Chair. The discussion highlighted that CO₂ capture and valorization involves not only scientific challenges but also regulatory and social ones.

In addition, the Chair sponsored the Awards of the II AI-Generated Images Contest presented during the conference, reinforcing its commitment to education and fostering young talent.

With this edition, the Green Chemistry Conference consolidates its role as a meeting point between teaching, research, and industry, reaffirming the Chair's leadership in promoting sustainable solutions for the energy transition.
