BOGES - 2nd Academic and Cultural Conference on the Pathologization of Sexually and Politically Divergent Women during the Francoist Dictatorship

The second edition of the “BOGES” project will be structured around three main aims -researching, walking, and poeticising- which combine academic research, the activation of memory in urban space, and contemporary artistic creation.

PROGRAM

WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL 2026

11 - 13 h. CAMPUS CATALUNYA, TARRAGONA - UNIVERSITAT ROVIRA I VIRGILI (Classroom 501)

  • RESEARCHING: the day will begin at Campus Catalunya (URV) with the presentation of the BOGES project by Vanina Hofman, followed by the screening of the documentary "Patronato de protección a la mujer", the result of the research "Indignas hijas de su Patria. Crónicas del Patronato de Protección a La Mujer en el País Valencià", by Marta García Carbonell and Maria Palau Galdón. The morning session will end with a conversation between the two researchers and Pilar Dasí, survivor of the Patronato.

15:30 - 17:30 h. STREETS OF TARRAGONA

  • WALKING: in the afternoon, led by Xavier Tolosana, a walk will take place aimed at reactivating the memory of oppressed women in Tarragona, which will begin inside the cemetery, will stop at the Pretorium ("Pilate's prison") and will end at the Convent of the Oblates, a former prison for Republican women.

18 - 20 h. CENTRE CULTURAL ANTIC AJUNTAMENT

  • POETIZING: the closing of the day will take place at the Centre Cultural Antic Ajuntament, where the video-dance short film "Memòria de les oblidades", by Marta Arjona, Maite Blasco and Raquel Rodríguez, based on the homonymous work by Tecla Martorell, will be screened, and two acts of the theatrical piece "El fil vermell", directed by Lucía Lerendegui, based on the book by Sílvia Tero and performed by Ani Saghatelyan, will be presented. The session will end with a round table with all the creators, moderated by Jordi Sardiña.
