Heritage and society

  • Coordination: Anna Maria Isabel Serra (annaisabel.serra(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat)
  • Community organizations:
    • Academic course 2013-14: Alcover City Council, Alcover Women's Group, Alcover Day Center, Casal Els Amics d'Alcover.
    • Academic course 2014-15: Serrallo grandmothers group.
  • Summary: This APS experience was developed during the 2013-14 academic year in two different courses: the Degree in Art History (currently in extinction) and the Degree in Art History, in the which was carried out until the 2015-2016 academic year. The students address the grandparents who usually go to the Nursing Home in the town of Alcover in order to carry out different interviews. The recipient of the service is Alcover City Council itself, who through interviews want to recover the historical memory through the knowledge and work carried out by the oldest people in the town. Students learn about how people lived in the village many years ago, what life was like during the festival, discover new aspects of gastronomy, thought, etc. of this village in the Alt Camp. With the material provided by the grandparents (old photographs or graphic material), an exhibition will be prepared in the village so that everyone can enjoy it.
