Welcome Space

If you are an international student, the Welcome Space is the ideal place to discover how to make the most of your stay at the URV. It will help you quickly get your bearings and learn about the services available to you as a student.

What you'll find in the Welcome Space

An open, dynamic and bustling space where you can:

• Meet student and alumni associations: projects, initiatives, activities and people with whom to share your interests. Take home some URV merchandise, if you take part in the activities.
• Discover the services that will support you throughout your studies: ICT resources, the CRAI, cultural and sports activities, languages, volunteering, mobility...
• Take part in games and activities designed to break the ice and build a sense of community.
• Get free URV merchandise when you participate in the activities
• Do your first university networking with fellow students from other degrees and courses.

When and where is the 2026 Welcome Space?

• Date: 29 September 2026

• Time: 12:00 to 15:00

• Place: Plaça de la Concòrdia, Catalunya Campus (Tarragona). Some activities will also take place in the CRAI and other campus spaces.

Who is it for?

All URV students are welcome, but it is especially useful for students starting their degree or joining the URV for a mobility stay. If this is your first year, this space is for you.

  • What does it offer? Services and information resources, spaces, equipment and specialised staff to support you with anything you need.
  • Activity: you'll learn how to carry out information searches and discover the equipment you can borrow. You'll also be able to explore the technology offered by the Factory and get information about the library, the User Information Point, the Self-Access Language Centre and the Factory.
• Internacional Center- ICenter
  • What does it offer? The I-Center offers academic and internship mobility at national and international level and welcomes new international students to the URV.
  • Activity you can do: a quiz with prizes!
• Aurora Alliance
  • What does it offer? International experiences in social innovation and the chance to help build a more sustainable society.
• URV Shop
  • What does it offer? The chance to buy official URV merchandise.
• Student Office
  • What does it offer? Housing service, EsportsURV, Careers Portal, career guidance, work placements, scholarships, and student associations and participation.
• Office for Equality and Social Commitment
  • What does it offer? Attention to diversity and equality, volunteering, environmental and sustainability activities, wellbeing and health, cultural classes.
  • Activities you can do:
    • Experience an immersive 3D activity that raises awareness about sexual harassment and gender‑based violence in educational settings. Activity organised by the Equality Unit.
    • Tasting of artisanal fruit ice creams (xalats.com) free from dairy and 14 additional allergens. Activity organised by Diversities.
    • "Connections". Experience more than ten audiovisual interventions from the Film and Audiovisual Arts Group, the Art Group and the Theatre Group.
• ICT Resources Service
  • What does it offer? ICT tools, Office 365 and the User Support Service (SAU).
• Language and Publications Service:
  • What does it offer? Language courses and accreditations and the chance to learn Catalan.
  • Activity you can do there: the word chain game.
