Center for Computational Science and Applied Mathematics (ComSCIAM)

Center for Computational Science and Applied Mathematics (ComSCIAM) is a research consortium whose aim is to promote interdisciplinary research in computational science and applied mathematics as key tools for addressing highly complex scientific problems. The consortium is based on the recognition that many of today's research challenges require the development of new mathematical models, simulation tools, and computational methods capable of integrating diverse datasets, scales, and approaches.

Within this framework, the project seeks to advance computational and mathematical methodologies that can address research questions extending beyond the boundaries of any single discipline. To this end, it will foster sustained collaboration among researchers with complementary expertise in fields such as mathematics, engineering, physics, computational chemistry, and data science.

ComSCIAM will establish a coordination structure comprising interdisciplinary seminars, an international symposium, and an external scientific advisory board. These will serve as mechanisms to generate new knowledge, strengthen shared research lines, and promote projects that apply computational tools in areas such as green chemistry, energy, industry, and health.
