Internationalisation of the curriculum

The Internationalisation of the curriculum (IoC) is an area of action related to Internationalisation at Home, as it seeks to enhance the learning experience in a broad sense. This includes the formal curriculum (courses and academic programmes), the informal curriculum (extracurricular activities related to university life), and the hidden curriculum (institutional language and the institution's inclusive strategic actions). IoC influences areas such as course design (the examples used, bibliography, frameworks, teaching methodologies employed in the classroom, etc.), as well as university programmes and strategies, which can equally affect the learning experience of both local and international students.
