Biography
I was born in Tortosa in 1964 and grew up between Tivenys and Tortosa. I initially trained as a primary school teacher before earning a degree in Geography and History. I joined the Universitat Rovira i Virgili as a lecturer in 1994 and have been an associate professor in the Department of History and Art History at the Faculty of Arts since 2010.
Throughout my academic career I have taught on History, Art History, and History of Art and Archaeology programmes at undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. I have also supervised numerous doctoral theses and contributed to the training of new generations of researchers in archaeology and ancient history.
My research focuses on the Protohistory of the Mediterranean. I lead the Protohistory and Archaeology Research Seminar (GRESEPIA-URV), part of the MIRMED consolidated research group, and I have coordinated numerous archaeological projects at both national and international levels. This work has been carried out in close collaboration with scientific and heritage institutions, contributing to the study and dissemination of archaeological heritage.
Alongside my academic career, I have held several university leadership positions, including coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in History, responsibility for the Faculty of Arts' Internal Quality Assurance System and, since 2022, Vice-Rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability. I have also represented the Universitat Rovira i Virgili on various advisory bodies and committees related to archaeological heritage, cultural heritage and historical memory.
