Recognition in form of credits by accreditation of labor and professional experience for master's course

Submitting the following documents :

• Application form addressed to the head of the Secretary's Office who, if necessary, will pass it onto the Office of the Dean or the Management of the Faculty/School.

• Employment record certificate that accredits the student's relationship with the company.

• Document issued by the company that details the work carried out by the student and the period in which this took place.

• Consult the criteria of your school/teaching that may require additional documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree criteria (catalan)
  • Master's degree criteria (catalan)

• If the documentation submitted by the student has been issued in a foreign country, the Faculty/School will decide if it provides the required information.

• Original and photocopy of the document that accredits the type of exemption, if appropriate (large family certificate, etc.).

Students must pay the recognition fee that is charged by the secretary's office of the center/campus in accordance with the current decree on public prices.

• The Faculty/School Board must approve and publish the specific criteria that will be used to evaluate the recognition of credits.

• Under no circumstances can credits for the Bachelor's Thesis and the Master's Thesis be recognised

• The number of credits based on professional and work experience may not exceed 15% of the total credits of the curriculum. This percentage also includes, if appropriate, recognized credits from non-official university courses (university-specific qualifications).

• This means that the maximum number of credits that can be recognised for work and professional experience is set at:
  • 180-credit bachelor's degrees: 27 credits
  • 240-credit bachelor's degrees: 36 credits
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Studies (300 credits): 45 credits 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (330 credits): 49.5 credits
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medicine (360 credits): 54 credits
  • 120-credit master's degrees: 18 credits
  • 90-credit master's degrees:13.5
  • 60-credit master's degrees: 9 credits

For bachelor's degrees only and at the student's request, recognised credits may be applied:

• In full, to the student's registration for the academic year in which they submit the application.
• Partially; that is, split between the student's registration for the academic year in which they submit the application and subsequent academic years in which the student continues the studies for which recognition has been requested. In this latter case, it will be the student's responsibility to progressively request, within the established period, the inclusion of the recognised credits on their academic record.

The Office of the Dean or Management of the Faculty/School.

At most, one month after presenting the application and the necessary documentation.
* August is not considered to be a working month.

• The interested party will be informed of the decision.

• If necessary, the students' academic transcript will be updated automatically.

• Applications presented between 2 May and 2 July 2026 will be accepted for the 2025-26 academic year (this is not the case if the subjects to be recognised are registered during the 2025-26 academic year).

• For bachelor's degrees, applications presented between 3 July and 15 October 2026 will be accepted and charged for the 2026-27 academic year

• Applications submitted that involve completion of studies by credit recognition, if submitted after the start of the academic activity of the following year (21 September 2026), registration corresponds to a new registration.

• Students must pay the fee for the recognized subjects established by the current decree of public prices.

• The centre will assess the experience accredited by the student, and the recognition will be applied primarily to the External Academic Internship or External Internship module.
• The recognition of these credits does not mean that the corresponding grades for these subjects are included. Therefore, they do not count towards the grading of the transcript.
• For bachelor's studies, if the decision is negative, the centre may consider exempting the student from undertaking the External Internship in whole or in part, which means that the student must register for the External Academic Practice module in the normal way and will receive a grade.

Only in specific cases may the centre consider applying the recognition to another module.
