Bonet Ávalos, Josep

Josep Bonet Avalos received his BSc from the U. Autònoma de Barcelona, 1986, and his PhD from the U. de Barcelona in 1992, both in Physics. Thanks to a UE scholarship he completed a postdoctoral stay in the Institut Charles Sadron (CNRS-ULP) in Strasbourg (1993-1995). From 1996 he is staff member of the U. Rovira i Virgili, becoming Full Professor in 2018. In 2019-2020 he was on sabbatical leave at the Imperial College London. His research interests involve many topics in the area of chemical physics, including property prediction through molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations, Density Functional Theory for interfacial phenomena, Low Reynolds number hydrodynamics and stochastic processes based on Langevin Equations. He has led new developments in the area of simulation of fluid dynamics using both Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and Dissipative Particle Dynamics. To date he has 71 scientific papers (cf. SCI), 2132 citations and h index of 27 (cf. Google Scholar).
