Final Degree Project - Analysis of contamination parameters of the Francolí riverbed

  • Coordination: Francesc Borrull Ballarin (francesc.borrul(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat)
  • Community organization: Mare-Terra Mediterrània Foundation.
  • Summary: This project arose from the 2nd Social Projects Market held in Tarragona and was developed in the 2015/2016 academic year. The objective of this experience was for the student to face a problem of social interest: the quality of the waters of the Francolí River, applying the knowledge acquired in their Chemistry studies. The experience, which was developed in collaboration with Mare-Terra Fundació Mediterrània, focused on the entire course of the river, from the origin of the Francolí to its mouth in Tarragona. The quality of the water was determined by studying general parameters such as PH, dissolved oxygen, BOD; as well as the presence of emerging polluting determinants. On the other hand, the influence of the different human activities developed near the river on the quality of the water was evaluated.
