Governing Council

The Council is the body that governs the university. It consists of the rector, the general secretary, the general manager and fifty other members, appointed by the rector, the University Court, the deans and directors of the faculties/schools, departments and university research institutes.

It is empowered to approve the university’s strategic planning, draw up perceptive reports on the creation, modification and suppression of faculties and schools, suppress or implement programmes leading to official university qualifications, approve new doctoral programmes and the University’s own qualifications, both for undergraduates and postgraduates, and elevate the University’s annual budget proposal to the University Senate.
