Showcooking course 2021-2022 Bellissens Campus

Èrica Cunillera and Carmen Sanjuan, students of the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Maria Fuentes, professor of the same degree, conducted a showcooking on the occasion of World Legumes Day. It was shown how to make easy and economical recipes with canned legumes suitable for university students. The event, which is part of the actions of the URV's Food and Healthy Lifestyle Project, was attended by more than 30 people on the Bellissens campus and 50 more who followed it live through the University's YouTube channel.

Cooking workshop course 2022-2023 FMCS

With the success of the showcooking last year, the students of the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Melina Janet and Iñaki Bisellach, together with Maria Fuentes, take a step further and prepared a legumes cooking workshop on the occasion of World Legumes Day. Participants are invited to participate in the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in this this workshop the objective is for a practical learning by the participants while helping them with the preparations and at the same time informing them of the benefits of the consumption of legumes throughout all the workshop, which ended with a tasting of the recipes prepared by the participants.

Energy drinks

On May 8, 2023, at the CRAI of Sescelades was promoted a joint activity in which it was wanted to inform students that were in exam time, the problems of consumption of energy drinks in the day to day and relying too much on them, trying to sensitize at this time to avoid abuse during the study and promote correct hydration, remembering no longer only the importance of water but also all those foods rich in water that can contribute to the diet.

Talk: Is plant protein the same as animal protein? Similarities and differences

On 18th April 2024 for the campaign “Abril, el mes saludable” of the URV, 2024 organized in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Reus a training session to understand the properties of foods rich in plant-based protein and its incorporation into the diet, taking into account the differences with foods of animal origin, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of maintaining this macronutrient.
