MENTOR programme for Welcoming International Students 2023/24 - 12th Edition

Admission to the Mentor programme for welcoming international students to the Universitat Rovira i Virgili

Objective

The MENTOR programme for Welcoming International Students aims to help international students integrate culturally, academically and linguistically during their stay at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. It is based on interaction between students from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, and international students who have come to spend a few months here.

Likewise, the URV "mentor" student participates in an international "home" activity, acquiring understanding and experience in multicultural contexts and situations while being one of the benchmarks at the URV for the international student.

Being a mentor has advantages when you decide to choose a mobility programme.

How to register?

  1. Read the announcement of the call to find out the details of the programme (right-hand column on this page
  2. Fill out the application form at the following link.

You will also need to send a certificate of your language level (if you have one) by email to mobility.in(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat

Application period:

Although the call is annual (it does not change throughout the course), there are two registration deadlines:

  • FIRST DEADLINE: from the day after the announcement of this call until 5 June 2023 (to be a MENTOR for the first semester or the whole academic year)
  • SECOND DEADLINE: submission of applications from 18 October 2023 to 18 November 2023 (to be a MENTOR for the second semester)

If you submit an application outside this period, you will not be able to register for the AUR credit, but you will be given the certificate of participation as long as you fulfil all your duties.

Registration of the activity

Once students have registered on the mentor programme, they will be awarded one AUR credit (Catalan acronym for Recognised University Activities).

Students who wish to enrol in the recognised university activity "Mentor Programme for Welcoming International Students" can do so by following the instructions given by the International Center.

To have the credit added to their academic record, students must pay the fee set by the "Decree governing the prices for the rendering of academic services at public universities" and to fulfil the academic requirements of the programme.

The I-Center will inform all applicants who have registered within the registration period of the procedures they have to follow.

REMEMBER!

Before the start of the activity, the student mentors will be given all the information they need about the programme and the activities they need to carry out

  1. In a mandatory meeting (face-to-face or online). All students who have applied will be notified by email.
  2. On the URV Moodle.
