General report of academic year 2022-23

We need figures and data to take stock, draw up reports and support arguments. The numbers that summarize the academic year 2022-23 at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili serve to measure, quantify and compare but not to explain what we have experienced as a community. Without ignoring the numbers, in this report, we aim to focus on people, the real driving force behind our university in all of its areas. We collect the testimony of those people who started the first academic year at the campus in Vilafranca del Penedès, we name the first students on the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and we discuss the researchers who are excelling in research of our university as a result of their extraordinary ability to raise funds. We also identify those people who have received awards and recognition, who have excelled in the field of research, who have led high-impact projects and also those who have breathed life into projects working for society, culture, sustainability or plurality.

Without the involvement, effort, tenacity and enthusiasm of students, teaching and research staff, and administration and service staff, we would only have numbers. We reappraise and give importance to people, without whom it would have been impossible to respond to the challenges or achieve the goals this past year.
