What are the Master’s students like?

We welcome students from diverse backgrounds, including, for instance, Tourism, oenology, economics, International relations and marketing, with the motivation to learn and grow professionally in the wine tourism sector.
What is special about this Master?

This programme started in 2016 with the ambitious goal of providing the wine Tourism industry with multidisciplinary and international experts. The universities in the Consortium are renowned across Europe for their know-how in Tourism and Oenology. WINTOUR covers specific management and entrepreneurial training, applied to wine and Tourism; wine and cultural heritage, focusing on the local characteristics of the three regions (Catalonia - Spain, Bordeaux - France, and Porto -Portugal); and an ambitious program of internships in a non-academic environment.
What do students learn from the Master?

The programme makes especial emphasis on promoting experiential learning and offers students stimulating learning experiences which give them a continuous close contact with the world of work as well as the chance to see and reflect about the present wine tourism activity, discover different ways of thinking and managing projects and companies, and meet successful case studies and entrepreneurs, who might be potential employers. This learning approach encourages students to explore both theory and practice and is developed particularly by means of an extensive catalogue of field trips and visits, three compulsory internships, and the participation of experienced professionals and academics in the field.
Where do the Master’s students find employment?

WINTOUR graduates have a solid multidisciplinary background that enables them to understand the different sectors as a whole and see the synergies between them. This, in turn, favours that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle new challenges in their regions of origin, such as developing new start-ups and activities using the dual use of wine as a tourist attraction and tourism as a means of knowledge and marketing of wine.
