Presentation

Theoretical Chemistry has become an essential tool for research in the field of Chemistry. Using a base of physics applicable to atoms and molecules, and thanks to the spectacular development of computer science, Theoretical Chemistry can now not only interpret the behaviour of numerous chemical systems but also make reliable predictions. It is for this reason that it has now gone beyond the most academic field and has become necessary in applied research in such leading industrial fields as catalysis or pharmaceuticals.

The aim of the interuniversity Master's Degree in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry is to provide students with scientific training in the extensive field of Theoretical Chemistry, prepare them to be able to carry out rigorous research projects, teach them how to use the wide range of programs available and enable them to use these tools to design a variety of materials. It gives continuity to the interuniversity doctorate of the same name and it is therefore the previous stage for those students who wish to do a doctorate in one of the various branches of this field.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements for this Masters can be reached through the link "Access and admissions regulations".

Career opportunities

Doctoral thesis in this field. Students are prepared to work in leading sectors of production that have interdisciplinary research groups such as the pharmaceuticals industry and companies that design materials for catalysis.
