Recognition in form of credits by accreditation of labor and professional experience for master's course

  • ITEM: Process which allows students to request the recognition in the form of credits by the URV of accredited professional and employment experience This experience must be related to the student's degree course competencies.

Application procedure

Who

The interested party or the authorized person on presentation of the necessary identification.

Where

Via the online administrative procedures on the URV's intranet or the URV online registry.

When

Period: 2 May to 30 November.

Cost

Students must pay the recognition fee that is charged by the secretary's office of the center/campus in accordance with the current decree on public prices.

Observations

  • The Faculty/School Board must approve and publish the specific criteria that will be used to evaluate the recognition of credits. If necessary, these criteria will be ratified by the Governing Council's corresponding delegated committee.

  • Under no circumstances will credits corresponding to final master's projects be recognized.

  • The number of credits based on professional and work experience may not exceed 15% of the total credits of the curriculum. This percentage also includes, if appropriate, recognized credits from non-official university courses (university-specific qualifications).

  • The faculties/schools publish the criteria that they apply when recognizing professional and employment work experience (consult the specific criteria for each faculty/school or course).

  • The maximum number of credits based on professional and work experience that can be recognized for master's courses is:
  • Master's degree of 120 credits: 18 credits

  • Master's degree of 90 credits: 13.5

  • Master's degree of 60 credits: 9 credits

 

Resolution of the application

Who

The Office of the Dean or Management of the Faculty/School.

When

At most, one month after presenting the application and the necessary documentation.
* August is not considered to be a working month.

 How

  • The interested party will be informed of the decision.

  • If necessary, the students' academic transcript will be updated automatically.

  • Applications presented between 2 May 2023 and 7 July 2023 will be accepted for the 2022-23 academic year (this is not the case if the subjects to be recognised are registered during the 2022-23 academic year).

  • Applications present between 8 July 2023 and 30 November 2023 will be accepted and charged for the 2023-24 academic year.

Cost

  • Students must pay the fee for the recognized subjects established by the current decree of public prices.

 Observations

  • The faculty/school must evaluate the experience accredited by the student and, if accepted, it will be recognized as forming part of the External Practicals subject.

  • The faculty/school will only recognize the experience as forming part of a different subject in specific cases.

  • The grade originally awarded for these credits is not recorded by the URV when it recognizes the credits and is therefore also excluded when calculating the overall grade of the academic transcript.
