The DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development was set up in 2005 between Dow Chemical Ibérica and Rovira i Virgili University. The primary aim of the DOW/URV Chair is to expand and disseminate knowledge in the field of sustainability based on the environment, the social and economic systems and technology.
The chair works in four main areas: education, research, transfer and dissemination. Support is given to lifelong learning and postgraduate education; to research into development and sustainable engineering at the URV; to the promotion of producing guides to handle company's problems and issues related to these areas; and to the creation of educational and teaching materials for specific audiences.
