Are there any grants or bursaries for exchange students arriving at the URV?

No, the URV does not provide this type of grant or bursary. If you want to obtain funding for an exchange study stay at the URV, you should contact your home university.

My university doesn't have any agreement signed with the URV. Can I study one semester as an exchange student?

We regret that the exchange programmes are limited to students from universities that have signed agreements with the URV. If you are interested in your university signing an agreement with us, you should ask a member of staff of your university to start the necessary proceedings by writing to mou@urv.cat.

Can I register directly at the URV to take part in an exchange programme?

Before applying to the URV, your university must nominate you as an exchange student. Once you've been nominated, we will contact you and send you instructions for your admission. Consult the proceedings on our website.

How much money do I need to live near to the URV?

Living in the cities close to the URV, such as Tarragona, Reus or Tortosa, is more affordable than living in the large European capitals. A student needs approximately 550€ a month for accommodation and other living expenses.

What are the times of the classes?

Classes are taught at the URV from 08.00 to 21.00. You can consult the timetable for the current academic year on the list of available subjects.

Are there any language courses for exchange students? How much do they cost?

The Language Service of the URV organizes language courses that are especially aimed at international students. Courses in Catalan are free and courses in Spanish are offered at affordable prices. These courses also enable you to obtain ECTS credtis.

When will I receive my URV card?

When you have presented all the necessary documents for registering at the URV. These are:

  • Identity document
  • Photograph
  • A copy of your European Health Card or private medical insurance
  • Application Form

When you arrive at the URV, we will tell you on which date your student card will be ready. Once we have informed you that it is ready, you will have to go to the International Center to collect it.

In which language are the classes taught?

Classes at the URV are mostly taught in Catalan and Spanish. Students can use either of these two languages in presentations, written work and exams.

Some subjects are also taught in English in certain faculties/schools. Consult your academic coordinator to find which subjects these are.

Which subjects can I study?

Consult the list of subjects available in your faculty/school. Remember that the academic coordinators of both your home university and the URV must approve your choice of subjects.

When do classes start?

The first semester at the URV starts in the second week of September.
The second semester starts in the second week of February.
