Final project - Study on the uses of the catalan language to the school

- Summary: As a result of the detection for part of the managerial and educational team of the school of a decrease of the oral use of the Catalan language for part of his students (so much autochthonous like newcomer), pose, as a consequence, the possibility to realise an analysis, during the academic year 2017-18, on the uses of the Catalan language to the school, studying the possible situations of linguistic stigma and prestige associated with the speech. The problem that poses the school has been resolved by means of a sociolinguistic analysis, that investigate, with methods of the sociology of the language and of the linguistic ethnography (participatory observation, surveys, non structured interviews, etc.), the factors that influence in the use and the representations of the Catalan language in the school centre. This analysis ended in a group of proposals of linguistic politics than the direction of the centre will have near at hand for can apply.
