Mental health depends on a variety of environmental factors that interact with genetic factors to determine individual vulnerability. Therefore, mental health must be studied using a multidisciplinary approach.
The aim of the Master's Degree is to highlight on the impact of the various genetic and environmental factors, which range from social aspects to exposure to toxic substances or drugs for therapeutic or leisure purposes. The Master's Degree focuses on research in all the areas mentioned. Students can do any one of three different curricula: Psychiatry, Neurotoxicology and Psychopharmacology.
The aim of this Master's Degree in Research is for students to become competent in research in the field of mental health. They can choose one of three schedules: psychiatry, neurotoxicology and psychopharmacology. This interdepartmental programme (Psychology, Medicine and Surgery and Basic Medical Sciences) is designed for graduates who wish to continue their postgraduate studies in the field of mental health research. The variety of curricula and subjects enables students to study the most up-to-date scientific theories and models in the various disciplines, and acquire experience in a variety of related research methods. The research aptitude provided by the Master's Degree also includes the stimulus of scientific introspection because students will take active part in debates, presentations and discussions on the scientific bibliography. Another of the aims of the Master's Degree is to guide students towards a doctoral thesis.
