Resuming doctoral studies (doctoral thesis)

| Who: | The interested or duly authorized parties, who have not registered for academic tuition of their thesis during the two previous academic years. |
| Where: | Secretary’s office of the department to which the body responsible for the doctorate belongs. |
| When: | • Ordinary period: 1 June to 20 September • Extraordinary period: 7 to 27 October |
| How: | By presenting the following documentation: • Application for the attention of the coordinator of the appropriate doctoral programme. • The doctoral thesis proposal that was approved and any subseqüent modifications (if appropriate). |
| Cost: | This application procedure has no cost. |
| Remarks: | The department will inform the coordinator of the doctoral programme and will hand over the documentation presented by the applicant. |
| Resolution of the application | |

| Who: | The body responsible for the doctorate programme. |
| When: | By 5 November at the latest, given that te registration period is from 2 to 15 November. |
| How: | The body responsible for the programme will take into account the comments made by the interested parties, among other factors, and decide whether they can continue their studies. Likewise, they will ratify, or not, the initial thesis proposal and the thesis supervisor.
The interested parties will be informed of the resolution, a copy of which will be sent to the Academic Management Service so that the registration procedure can be initiated. |
| Economic effects: | Students must pay the registration fees. |
| Remarks: | Students will also be informed of the date on which they have to register for their thesis tutorials. If students’ personal information has changed in any way with respect to the first time the proposal was registered, they must ensure that the pertinent changes are made (Modifying the registration of the doctoral thesis proposal). |
