General Aims of the Doctorate
The main aim of the program is to train students in the techniques of high-quality advanced research. The subsidiary aims are thus:
- To make the student part of a research group.
- To increase the student's capacity to advance in one of the research focuses of the program.
- To foster initiative to develop new research projects and methodologies, together with the key researchers in the field.
- To enable the acquisition of general skills involnved in personal and group work, including paticipation in research projects and the mnagement of bibliographical resources.
- To complete a doctoral thesis.
Program Structure
Students are assumed to bave completed a Masters with a strong research component. If this is not the case, the initial training in research skills is given in the following Masters program:

Admission
- Maximum number of students: 20
- Selection criteria:
- Since the program operates entirely in English, at both the Masters and doctoral levels, a high professional level of English is required. This is tested on the basis of previous studies and/or a personal interview.
- Candidates must also fulfill the requirements set out in Article 19 and additional disposition 4 of Real Decreto 1393/2007. Admissions to the program are based on the following criteria:
