Doctoral Program in Chemical, Environmental and Process Engineering



General Aims of the Doctorate

The main aim of the doctorate is to produce doctors for high quality and advanced research. To this end, the general aims of the course are the following:

  • To incorporate the students into a research group.
  • To broaden their skills so that they can specialize in different aspects of the lines of research set out in the programme.
  • To strengthen students' initiative in developing research projects with a methodology and scientific principles appropriate to their field of research.
  • To foster general individual and team working abilities, participation in research projects, bibliographical database management, etc.
  • To produce a doctoral thesis.

Structure of Doctorate

The formation period of the doctorate programme is linked to the following Master's degree introduced on the University (in order to the RD 1393/2007):

Admission

  • Maximum number of students: 30
  • Criteria for admission and selection:

The fulfilment of the established conditions, as a requirement of admission in the 19th article and 4th addicional order of the RD 1393/2007, is necessary to be able to entry at the Doctorate Program while its research mode.


Specific criteria:

  • To have completed someone of the studies of master's degree established as a period of training in the program doctorate, described previously.
  • To have a qualifications of access similar to the studies of university master's degree which constitute the period of formation in the program doctorate, which in addition they lead to the studies of doctorate in the native land.
  • In case the qualifications of access had not included a work of research of  similar characteristics to the included ones in the described itineraries of research, one can lead determined to the accomplishment of the above mentioned work in a limited period of time.
  • In this case, is proceeded to the candidates' selection by means of the valuation considered of the qualifications of access - having in mind the university and country of origin-, the academic process, the knowledge of the language English, the motivation to continue the studies of doctorate and other merits contributed by means of a brief curriculum.
