  • Observatory for Sustainability in Spain
  • The Observatory for Sustainability in Spain is an independent project in operation from February of 2005. Its head office is in the University of Alcala (Alcala de Henares). It initiates its activities as a result of an agreement subscribed by the Ministry of Environment, the Foundation Biodiversity and the General Foundation of the University of Alcala. OSE aspires to become a centre of reference of state scope  that, of rigorous form, compiles, elaborates and evaluates the basic information on sustainability in Spain (situation, tendencies and scenes), remembering its different dimensions (social, economic and environmental).

  • Climate Change Website. Generalitat of Catalonia.
  • This section contains information about the main causes of the climate change and its consequences. You can also find out how several countries around the world are involved politically and legally in its minimization process.
  • The Advisory Council for the Sustainable Development of Catalonia
  • The Advisory Council for the Sustainable Development of Catalonia was set up in 1998 to advise the Catalan Government and to promote participation in policies and activities that have an impact on the environment and sustainable development.  CADS work also places particular emphasis on spreading environmental values and encouraging the culture of sustainability throughout Catalan society. The Council wants to contribute to the reflection on the conditions that make it possible to impregnate Catalan society with a culture of sustainability and the decision-taking processes, the purpose of which is to make sustainability a basic element of the social capital of our country.
  • Research on Environment and Sustainability Directory
  • The Research on Environment and Sustainability Directory is a public database, whose access is reserved for: several research groups, firms, scientific and technological parks, CERCA (Research Centres of the Generalitat) centres, other research and technological centres, foundations, entities, associations, and Public Administration units -that work in Catalonia- in the sustainable development fields, from a global point of view, which includes environmental, cultural, economic, legal and social factors. The Directory is the result of the collaboration between The Advisory Council for the Sustainable Development of Catalonia and the Environmental Forum Foundation.
  • Sustainability area of the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia
  • The sustainability area of the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia intends to bring closer the global dimension of the environmental goals to the Catalan people. This sustainability area arranges experts’ meetings, seminaries; participates in conferences and campaigns at Catalonia and international levels, create educational materials base in international reports and arranges workshops for teachers and young people.
  • The 2nd International Conference on Sustainability Measurement and Modelling (ICSMM 2009)
  • The 2nd International Conference on Sustainability Measurement and Modelling (ICSMM 2009) will become, again, an interacting forum for those organizations, institutions, and experts interested in Sustainability Measurement and Modelling issues; more generally, for those supporting decision-making processes. Announced by the UNESCO Chair in Sustainability at the Technical University of Catalonia and the Spanish Observatory for Sustainability (SOS), the ICSMM 2009 will take place on November 5th and 6th 2009, in Terrassa (located 35 km from the city of Barcelona). 
  • Centre for Territorial Sustainability
  • The Centre for Territorial Sustainability is an association that promotes the “new culture of the territory” (NCT), that is, a new way of understanding the territory. This association get together environmental entities and territory defending organizations, teachers and university researchers, economic agents and professionals, and citizens. The CST proposes to consolidate a complicity network that could work as a collective agent of observation, spreading and socialization of new values in accordance with the NCT.
  • Investigation on Education for Sustainable Development Network
  • The main mission of the Network is to promote and optimise the education for sustainability, creating knowledge from the experiences developed up to the current day, especially by the groups that participate and from the exchange and collaboration in research, improvement and innovation projects. The Networks aims to achieve its mission by opting for a strategy that enables creating of conditions to facilitate the exchange between the involved groups and between those that share a concern, interest and/or knowledge of the subject.
  • Institute of Environmental Science and Technology of the University of Barcelona
  • The Institute of Environmental Science and Technology mission is to promote and carry out research, and to train researchers who can contribute to our understanding of the environment and meet the challenges posed by the interaction between society and the environment. ICTA's goal is to become one of the leading European centres in environmental studies, distinguished by its international focus, multi-disciplinary base and cooperation between the various stakeholders within the framework of sustainability based on social civil responsibility.
  • Canarian Agency for Sustainable Development and Climate Change
  • The functions of the Agency are the development and enhancement of policies and measures which contribute to more sustainable forms of development and tackling global warming, together with the coordination of sectoral policies and the promotion of public and private initiatives.
