Sergio Nasarre Aznar
Professor of Civil Law at the University Rovira i Virgili and Deputy Judge in the Court of Tarragona. He is European Doctor in Law and Masters in Real Estate Economics from the University of Cambridge. Since 2008 Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. He is the author of three books on the mortgage market and tort law, he has coordinated four more and he is author of over 50 scientific articles published in Spain, Germany, USA, Switzerland, Netherlands, Portugal, Britain, Ireland and Poland. He has delivered about 70 lectures in several European countries. He has been visiting scholar at the Universities of Barcelona (2005), Bremen (2007), Valladolid (2009, 2010, 2012), National University of Ireland (2009), Cambridge (2011 and 2012) and Duke (2011). He has been Main Researcher of four projects on access to housing (2010, 2011 and 2012) and member of the project TENLAW the 7th Framework Programme of the EU, the European Network for Housing Research and the Common Core Project of the University of Trento. He has taken part in various legislative committees for Catalonia (2006 trusts, protection of mortgagors intermediate tenures, 2011 and 2011 i 2012) and Spain-wide (reform of the La of Leases 2012 and to draft the Spanish Housing Plan 2013-2016). Winner of several awards, his research interests are mainly property and real estate law, territorial credit, mortgages, mortgage market, housing, securitization, European private law, trust, mortgage refinancing, real estate, tort law and legal persons.
