Evaluation and Improvement
The Rovira i Virgili University has introduced instruments and procedures for managing quality into practically all areas of activity. Since 1996, the URV has taken part in the National Plan for University Quality, which in Catalonia is managed by the Agency for the Quality of the University System in Catalonia. This plan has used a methodology that combines the internal (self-evaluation) and external viewpoints to evaluate the quality of practically all our courses.
In the sphere of doctorates, the URV initiated its model of quality doctorates in 2001, and in the same year defined the model for continuous training. Subsequently, the Action Plan for Continuous Training was drawn up.
Also, in 1999, the Strategic Plan for Research was drawn up and, subsequently, the system for evaluating research activity was initiated. As far as plans for improvement are concerned, in 1999 the Regulation for applying and monitoring the results of evaluation processes was approved. And since 2000, the University has had programme contracts with the Catalan government to improve the quality of the URV.
