- Science director of the Chemistry Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTQC)
Carmen Claver has been the science director of the Chemistry Technology Centre of Catalonia in Tarragona. The centre aims to improve the sustainability, competitiveness, innovation and technological progress of the companies in the chemical sector. It also provides services, carries out RDI projects and captures, adapts and transfers innovative technologies in a framework of collaboration with other agents.
Carmen Claver’s research focuses on developing new catalysts, synthesizing complexes and characterizing intermediates, and mainly focuses on enantioselective catalysis and nanocatalysis. She has published several books on the subject.
She has been recognised in 2003 as distinguished researcher by yhe Catalan Government. In 2007 she was awarded the Narcís Monturiol Prize by the Catalan Government for her contribution to the development of science and technology in Catalonia. She has also recently been appointed a member of the "Academia Europaea", an European non-governmental scientific organization founded in 1988.
