What is the university degree of Specialist on Analyst of Environmental Impacts and Global Changing?

The aim of this university degree is to recognize the specific formation of students of geography on Analysis of Environmental Impact techniques associated with the Global Changing. Moreover it has to certificate their knowledge and abilities in this field.

Formative profile:

  • To dominate theoric aspects of the effects on the natural environment which is the climate changing, engine of the global changing. 
  • To create databases for atmospheric, oceanic and terrestial commands
  • To produce metadata bases
  • To acquire Quality Control and Assesment of the Homogeneity of the databases knowledge
  • To dominate quantitative analysis techniques
  • To apply basic or general and thematic Cartography
  • To use Geographic Information Systems (GISs)
  • To use Photointerpretation and Teledetection techniques

This profile is directly related to the treatment, management and analysis of the geographic information. It is one of the main fields of work of the geographers because of the analysis of the environmental information of the territory, detection and evaluation of impacts produced by the dynamics of the Global Changing and its representation. 

Professional Activity

  • Cartography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Teledetection and Quality Control (related to the creation and maintenance of metadata bases to atmospheric, oceanic and terrestial commands
    • Digitizers of spacial information 
    • Designers of Thematic Cartography 
    • and so on.
  • Statistic treatment of the Environmental Information and Analysis of Risks and Impacts Associated to it
    • Technicians in Analysis of Environmental Impacts
    • Statistical analysts
    • Databases management 
    • Technicians in monitoring and evaluating Global Changing
  • To ocupate basic positions in a work team

This degree is going to certificate students' knowledge and abilities referring to environmental analysis techniques.

How to obtain the Diploma?

The student has to pass a total of 60 credits to choose among main, compulsory and optative subjects from the following itinerary. From the total of credits, 30 will correspond to optative subjects.
