Photography Contests:

The Photography Contests of the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development are intended for all the members of URV community, that is, students, PAS and PDI lecturers. The main aim of this contest is to stimulate students’ reflection about the sustainability of our environment, our activities, behaviours, etc, from the photography.

 III Photography Contest of the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development

(March 26th – April 13th, 2012)

The United Nations have proclaimed 2012 as the "International Year of Sustainable Energy for All", for this reason the theme of the photographs must be based on the close relationship between energy and sustainable development, being the access to clean and secure energy  a fundamental issue in achieving the commitments set in the Millennium Development Goals. The photographs should reflect the importance of sustainable access to energy, the chemistry in sustainable energy, the energy efficiency and the renewable energies.

In the third Edition of the Photography Contest there will be given a first prise of 500 €, a second one of 250 €, and two third prices, 125 € each one.

Following the instructions established at the bases of the contest, the photographs must be sent until the 13th April, 2012, email address: desenvolupament.sostenible@urv.cat

It must be included:

a. A file with the photograph in digital version (less than 5 Mb)

b. A PDF file including the photography itself (reduced quality), the title and an explanation following the characteristics explained in the bases of the contest.

II Photography Contest of the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development

(March 1st - April 1st, 2011)

In the second edition of the Photography Contest, there will be given a first prise of 400 € and a second one of 100 €, for every topic, that is, an amount of 6 prises.

I Photography Contest of the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development

In the first edition of the Photography Contest, the Chair delivered 7 prises: a first prise of 400 €, two second prises of 200 € and four third prises of 50 €.

Research Prises:

Since one of the DOW/URV Chair's aims is to encourage the research in the field of the sustainability, it announces the Research Prises, in order to award the best work on this topic. This contest is intended for those students that are going to register for a environmental postgraduate/master course at the University Rovira i Virgili. The prise consists of a maximum 2000 € subsidy for the payment of the URV postgraduate course.
