The DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Antena del Coneixement de la URV de Móra d’Ebre, the Center of Ribera d’Ebre’s Studies (CERE), the Móra d’Ebre City Council and the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council, has organised the Debate conference on the Ribera d’Ebre’s sustainable development, which are taking place on February 4th and 11th, 2010, at 7pm, at the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council, located in Móra d’Ebre.
The main aim of these conferences is ‘to spread the most important concepts concerning sustainable development and to expose territorial projects that can make this concept closer to the citizenship and the firms’.
The schedule of the conferences:
Presentation of the conferences, in charge of Bernat Pellisa, president of the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council, and Albert Pujol, president of CERE.
a) Conference What sustainable development is? in charge of Enric Aguilar, director of the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development.
b) Conference Concepts concerning development to be considered in charge of Òscar Saladié, from the DOW/URV Chair of Sustainable Development.
Moderator: Albert Pujol, president of CERE.
a) Project Terres de l’Ebre’s candidature for the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme, in charge of representatives of the Consortium of Agro-Environmental Services of the Baix Ebre and Montsià regions (CODE).
b) Project Sustainable rural management, social responsibility implementation within the firms and the entities of the Leader territories, in charge of the Interregional Consortium of Socio-Economic Initiatives of Ribera d’Ebre and Terra Alta. And the Project of Social Responsibility Implementation within the firms of the Ribera d’Ebre, in charge of the experts from the Area of Economic Dynamisation of the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council.
Moderator: Núria Morera, environmental expert of the Ribera d’Ebre Regional Council.
On the conferences structures:
There will be two speakers on each conference. Each speaker will have 20 minutes to present briefly the concept he is going to explain. He can also use a multimedia presentation. Then, the debate can be begun with the help of the moderator, taking as a starting point the initial concepts previously exposed and then, letting the topic open to the public participation.
