INU Hiroshima Summer Courses 2013:

1. INU Student Seminar for global Citizenship and Peace

“The INU Student Seminar, held each year at Hiroshima University, is an interdisciplinary course, which aims to allow students from INU universities to learn about the concept of global citizenship through discussions, workshops and cultural activities.”

When: 5 – 10 August 2013
Where: Hiroshima University, Japan
Who can apply? Undergraduate and graduate students off all disciplines
How to fund: MEXT grant will fund 2 students from the URV and 1 faculty or staff from the URV (travel & accommodation)
Application deadline: Fill the Application form and send it to mobility@urv.cat before 2nd May

2. INU Master's Summer School for Global Citizenship and Peace

“The INU Master’s Summer School is held each year at Hiroshima University and is entering its fifth annual iteration. Graduate students from INU universities in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia participate in the course. The course itself involves an intensive series of seminars and lectures directed by professors from INU member universities. It requires participating graduate students to prepare and present a 4000‐word paper on one of four themes related to global citizenship and peace and to participate in a simulation of a United Nations General Assembly session.”

When: 3 – 10 August 2013
Where: Hiroshima University, Japan
Who can apply? Graduate students of related disciplines
How to fund: MEXT grant will fund 1 students from the URV  (travel & accommodation)

3. INU Nursing Workshop

“Scheduled to take place concurrent with the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, the workshop will include expert speakers from each of the universities, visits to hospitals and community health organizations, and interactive case studies in which students apply learning principles to disaster scenarios."

When: 3 – 10 August 2013
Where: Hiroshima University, Japan
Who can apply? Undergraduates and graduate NURSING students
How to fund: MEXT grant will fund 1 students from the URV  (travel & accommodation)

4. INU Master's Summer School for Environmental Science

“ Scheduled to take place concurrent with the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, the INU Master Summer School for Environmental sciences provides a venue for master’s students from INU institutions to develop contacts and networks around the world with the aim of promoting future collaborative research and other activities. Participants will learn about the similarities and differences in local environmental issues through their resentation of country reports and discussion. The summer school will combine lectures from internationally acclaimed experts, presentations and field trips.”

When: 2 – 9 August 2013
Where: Hiroshima University, Japan
Who can apply? Undergraduates and graduate NURSING students
How to fund: MEXT grant will fund 1 student and 1 faculty from the URV (travel & accommodation)
